Things Don't Work Out

In the end--

We all regret something
And I,
You

Do not tear me down
And prompt to judge me
Upon what you think you know,
Of what my character holds

Have a conversation with me.
I too, have a story to share
Of the warm sunlit mornings,
Happy childhood
And the dark nights,
Treacherous adolescence
Of misbecomings and tribulations
Cheek pressed on the cold tiled bathroom floor
And the aftermath of picking up my mother’s best china, broken beyond repair
